Can be coded out using VCDS.

Check the owners register.

Or wear a seatbelt, I've seen the adverts where someone's head goes through the windscreen

If it still chimes when youve got belt on something must be broke!

I have the same issue but don't have VAGCOM I think it's just and intermittent short / open circuit somewhere in the loom, I tried unplugging both looms under the seat but this caused an airbag fault light I reattached the looms but the fault light was still there took it to the dealers who reset the fault light for free, question is: can I unplug the 2 wire seatbelt loom without causing and airbag fault?
