An age old question.......
« on: August 20, 2009, 06:48:25 pm »
.............Cold air induction kits. What's best?

I should hopefully have around £300 to spend on an induction kit soon but it seems a right mine field! The EVOMS is just way too expensive fro me but I want to get something that will make a nice sound. I'll hopefully be getting Bluefin too in a couple of months, providing I've done enough overtime! This will hopefully help it on its way to sounding a bit more urgent!

All advice welcome.

Cheers.

You probably be better going for the bluefin first as the standard fuel pump can't cope with the air from the standard intake when remapped.

I'm not sure that reads right/makes sense Rob? If the car can't cope with the a remap and the standard intake aren't I better getting the filter first?

your car wil cope fine with a remap and standard air intake. it will just become a little breathless at the top of the rev range, but if yo dont push your car that much you wont notice it. stage 1 remaps are designed to go on a car with no modifications at all.

an air intake will make a big difference though and is worth the money. there are a few options available google these below

evoms
Vf engineering
P-flow
forge
BSH

Sorry that was a bit vague wasn't it!

What I meant was that the TFSI engine suffers poor fuelling in the mid rev range and that the standard intake will provide more than enough air for a stage 1. I would personally spend the intake money on an HPFP firstly, unless of course its mainly the indusction noise you're looking for.
