Rcd510 sound question ?
« on: August 22, 2013, 02:38:24 pm »
I have a rcd510 (changed my rcd300) and I can't find the booklet I got with the stereo, I have no sound in the back of the car now ?? But I can't find a fade switch on the unit? to make the music go from the front speakers and back speakers! Does this stereo not have a fade switch ?

I think the solution is to do wi the coding

Read a similar thread the other day

Depends what sound pack the new stereo was coupled to in the last car. Just needs re coding to tell it how many speakers etc you have in the current car

Will that be an easy job for my local VW dealer to do ? Or am I better looking for an independent in Edinburgh ?

Check the vcds register on here. It lists all the people that own the vcds cable and software that allows diagnostics and coding.  Someone local to you could change the coding for a couple of beer tokens.

Will be far cheaper than going to the dealer!

Hope that helps,
