alarm problems
« on: September 06, 2013, 01:45:18 pm »
Hi guys
I have a bit of a problem with regards to my alarm i.e. the siren doesn't go off
I was told that the cem(I think that's what it's called controller that 'controls' the alarm)
was faulty changed that but still no sound
so I changed the siren (just about blew my ears off fitting it  :happy2:)
but now nothing no sound but the alarm does set off the indicators once tripped
any ideas??

Cheers
Stu

Was it a new siren you put on? I have replaced a couple in my time, the internal battery for it either stops holding charge or bursts. If it was a used one it could have died again.

You can check with VCDS whether it communicates with the sounder, and find whatever is stopping it from sounding.
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.
Now have an S4 B8 Avant (stage 2)
