Bluetooth audio question (iPhone)

A couple of weeks ago I retrofitted OE bluetooth to the car with the latest bluetooth module (7P6 035 730 L) and the bluetooth side sorts a treat. However, when using audio streaming, I can control the track selection (forward and back) and display the track details but I can't navigate through the iPhone (selection function when connected via the MDI) to specific artists, tracks etc.

Is this a quirk of the bluetooth system, iPhone firmware (7.0.3) or have i missed something with the coding (assuming others are able to navigate through the iPhone)?
