Robin, I'm no professional on this, but have been interested in this stuff for
many years and read some books about aerodynamics. This way even a
naturally mildly talented guy like me will get some basic knowledge.  :evilgrin:

Your American forum discussion with another couple of guys who know about aerodynamics certainly brought out some more knowledge even though it did get a bit technical in parts. The Golf just isn't fast enough or the right shape for aerodynamics to make massive differences but every little bit helps and the principles are interesting.

The Golf is somehow like a Lego piece, but cutting 2 or 3 per cent of drag is quite easy
and even 5 per cent is no big deal.

Improved acoustic isolation. Never fitted this, but I remember a guy did.
The black printing is little different, but the shape of the windscreen itself
is the same as Mk.V.
Reduced wind noise, less "FSI ticker" (midrange frequencies). No difference
in exhaust noise.
