soggy wheel well!

Since i bought the car I've had issues with windows steaming up if not regularly used, so assumed a leak somewhere.

With all the heavy rain recently I've not noticed it get worse, but today went to do something in the boot, and found about 2 inches of water in the wheel well.

Having owned a leon Cupra in the past i know the rear door seals were an issue with them, but does the mk5 have a particular seal in the boot that can be an issue? rather be able to replace one rather than multiple ones if i can!

Take the rear bumper off i believe there's a vent that can get clogged up?

The rubber umbilical thing that takes the wires from the body to the tailgate wasn't seated properly on my car and water was getting in and making its way into the boot

Also check the foam seal round the rear lights. Takes about 10 minutes (max) to take each out.

Had this problem when we had all that rain.
If you pull the carpet out to where you get to the back of the lights there is a vent on either side, the rubbers perish and the water gets in there. Xjay1337 is right back bumper off to replace the vents

could be the problem.. but i dont have these on my car they have been removed and i havent had any water

my mate had this issue in his mk5, it turned out the be the vent behind the rear bumper as mentioned, there was alot of play in it as the seals perished, he had it replaced and been dry since

I had the exact same problem, Tyre well was full up after it had been raining, It was leaking through the drivers rear light.
