schitty little white worm
« on: April 03, 2014, 07:07:08 pm »
Washing half the Saharan desert off my car this morning and i noticed that 2 of my wheel caps have begun with the dreaded white worm showing its ugly little bonce...

is there anything i can use to remove it or should i simply ensure that i stop being so lazy and make the effort to seal my wheels every time i wash them. The alloys themselves are not at risk as i understand it as they are powder coated in silver rather than being OEM diamond cut - I can't bear white worm on the alloys themselves

Dont think you can remove it on the wheel caps. Easiest just to get some new ones from the dealer, they don't cost very much. I'm not sure if they have overcome the problem now, because the last set I bought are still looking fine with no whiteworm at all.

cheers fellas, i thought as much. I guess the main thing is it hasn't and shouldn't affect my wheels.

Mine have just started doing the same. Very poor design imho - this set have only lasted since Oct 2012. I don't use harsh wheel cleaners either!

I sanded mine flat and now have polished alloy centre caps. Makes my (awfully corroded) wheels look bigger.

You can get some on Ebay pretty cheap :) I ordered some a week or so ago for the Edition 30
