Yeah, it was a pig to be honest, a LOT of the front of the engine has to be removed to get at the main stat. Took me most of the day. Right under the inlet manifold, absolute PITA to get at

There was only 1 stat on mine, also I've read of others having 3 on later DSG cars.

Just noticed this plug/sensor that looks like it's been glued together at some point. What is it would it be affecting the temp gauge on the dash?





Camshaft sensor

It wont affect temp gauge but i would replace personally

Would this dodgy camshaft sensor make the engine management light come on if it was faulty? As the light has come on the dash, also can the car be driven with this on I don't want to damage it?
