@jhook661 not really helping matters here mate! although I'm seriously looking into getting a 200bhp map on this, the engine can take it nicely and I don't appear to have the DPF issues that the 170 had... Did your mates Seat get done in the end, after I let you down?





Got myself a disklok after a few people I know in the area have had their cars taken! and to top it off recently I went to lakeside shopping center with 4 mates, I took a lift in my mates car (Focus RS), and there was 3 fiesta STs, all with keyless entry. Police said of the 5 RS' that happened to be there that day only there was only one without a disklok, or some form of lock and that one was stolen! Could just be a coincidence but my mate did a group buy on these and I couldn't say no for the price!

Only the diesel PD170 has DPF (diesel particles filter), yours is petrol. You can tune it to 200 BHP, I think you just need to get a better downpipe with a sports cat.

Again working away has slowed me down some more but I've come back from another week in Wales to find on my rear quarter panel I have some laquer peeling off next to a small dent that was on the car when I bought it? What's the best way for me to fix this!????

If laquer is peeling then I'm sorry to say painting it is the only way to fix it properly. You can touch up the laquer to some extent but I'll never be right until done properly.

I guess i knew that, didn't really want it to be true :|, I mean I know next to nothing about spraying cars so does anyone know anyone or could recommend anything that I could do or get someone to look at?

Hopefully will get my ed30 front splitter (ebay) all painted up at some point this week or next, whenever I get time!, Got some adhesion primer, primer, united grey spray and lacquer, along with a load of fine sand paper to see me through

My hunt for an exhaust has been some what dampened by the fact I need to address the lacquer peeling now, I'm awaiting some quotes now and hopefully they will be kind to my wallet before Christmas... I'll update tomorrow with a picture of the dirty lacquer peeling :((...

On the way back from work today, I absolutely hate myself for this.




So again my exhaust hunt gets pushed even further back to;

• 1: Sort out lacquer peeling
• 2: Fix alloys, or get them all done and powder coated a new colour?
• 3: Sort out a milltek cat back.

God everything is going wrong for me at the minute!!

Put a decent coat of plastic adhesion spray on my new front bumper and let to rest for a week and now I have just cleaned and preped the bumper and applied 2 coats of grey plastic primer. I'll leave this to dry for 24 hours in my neighbours garage before sanding down and seeing where I'm at

on the 1.4tsi you can decat it and get good figures but just removing the cat material in the standard cat. they dont need a large down pipe as 2.5'' is adequate to flow up to 240hp

am I wrong in assuming that a decat won't pass an MOT? or is there a way I can get like a sports cat?

in other news I have finished painting my "ED30" front splitter, although It was a cheapy ebay special, I'm happy with the final look, although the clips were genuinely awful and were poor for fitting, so I had to fashion proper clips instead which took the best part of 2 hours... all in all lesson learned to never buy any kind of knock of material again, comparatively the rear valance I bought which was a genuine VW part was the easiest fit in the world.

Cheers buddy :). I think its safer to say they don't fit the MK5 platform without some irreversible mods, like cutting the gear knob shaft shorter by about 3", IMO well worth it though!

so i've owned my car for 6 months now, and I did a few comparison shots so far and I think i've made an improvement for sure!

Great work so far!

Much nicer than before. I'd really recommend xenons headlights, or Hella xenon-look headlights. They really improve the front of the car.

Ah I was unaware that Hella make the xenon look headlights, I'm not really keen on xenons but the xenon look ones could be up my street, I have the black insert ones at the moment which aren't so bad.

I had a good result on eBay the other day I found a set of genuine R line fog light grilles and I paid £36 which I'm over the moon with as TPS quoted £140! I don't get to work on my car in the light these days which is a pain but you get the idea! also does anyone know where I can get the hella projector headlights from?
