Matt's Remapped TDI
« on: August 30, 2015, 10:47:41 am »
Hey guys.

Have had the tdi for a while now and have made a few changes so thought i'd share it with you.

Had it mapped at AMD last week and bought some 18" octavia VRS alloys yesterday for a steal!
On the hunt for coilovers now and some new rubber for the wheels (any suggestions)?

Other mods include r32 style rear valance, gti front end and skirts, as well as some minor details such as led plate lights and some stuff inside... and of course, red calipers!

heres some pictures from when i bought the car up to today:

Yes, the paintwork is pretty shabby and it needs lows but thats all coming in the future

Looking good man.  Where was the r32 rear from?  Hows the fitment?

Cheers, r32 bumper was from eBay! fitment was okay for an aftermarket part. Only had to bolt it to the higher part of the bumper where they meet on each side (at the wheel arch)

Took the same route as me with the R32 rear with no cut out, Front skirts and GTI front. Amazing how it can transform a car! The wheels also look very good on it! Are you going to get a ED30 lip for it? A bit of a drop and will look even better! R32 rear lights would complete the back! :happy2:

Thanks! I've been looking for some 32 rear lights for ages but I'm just not happy spending £200+ on them just yet  :sad1: I'd like an ED30 lip, i ordered the current one which was supposed to be a gti but actually seems more like a GT lip. Thats eBay for you!
Hopefully getting some coilovers ordered this week. Just need to decide which ones  :rolleye:

I picked my R32 rear lights from one breaking near me! I got them for €90 which is about £75.. which is a  steel  :signLOL: My GTI bumper is after market and the GTI lip is molded on so I cant get an ED30 without changing the bumper.

Nice looking motor, from another TDi owner, where are you located? I've recently had mine mapped at AmD as well! :driver:

Thanks  I'm near Chelmsford in Essex so AMD was pretty handy for me.

I'm liking the changes you have made so far, pretty much what I'm wanting to do with my 1.6 FSI.

Did you put on a genuine gti front bumper or an aftermarket one? Also are you planning on colour coding the side skirts, rub strips and door handles?

Thanks! Its an aftermarket bumper which was a bit of a pain to fit! however i think the genuine ones also take some modifying to fit to a non gti.

Id like to colour code the door handles and bump strips but i think ill leave the skirts standard :)

I love this mod, cheap and looks loads better... it does shine a bit brighter at night though.
