Spark Plugs - NGK Iridium BKR7EIX.
« on: August 31, 2015, 07:38:19 pm »
Good Evening,

Apologies in advance if this is a topic that has been covered before. I have done a fair amount of research and primarily found threads dated several years ago. Any advice on the below would be much appreciated.

I currently have a Stage 1 GTi soon to be Stage 2. Currently it has the OEM spark plugs installed and they have performed without fault. My car is being serviced in a couple of weeks and I thought this would be a good opportunity to get uprated plugs fitted.

I have been looking at the NGK Iridium BKR7EIX plugs which can be found here.

There are numerous forum threads relating to the above plugs which offer a lot of conflicting advice. Some people say they cause no end of problems whilst others sing their praises.

If anyone has any experience with these plugs it would be great to hear from you, did you notice any performance benefits or suffer any problems? Would you recommend the plugs, if not which ones would you use? Having done my reading I'm swaying towards sticking with OEM.

As above any advice would be much appreciated.

Kind Regards

Jack

I bought my Edition 30 which is running Revo stage 2+
These were fitted when I purchased the car.
Just replaced them with the same plug.
I'm extremely happy with them plus R-Tech advised I refitted them for their remap I'm having soon.
Tuners advice always helpful

I would suggest using what works and hasn't given you firing problems.
If you do have firing issues...I would suggest NGK PFR7B @ 0.028" gapping...these perform flawlessly whether running a K03 or K04 tuned: http://www.hstuning.com/product_info.php?cPath=24_32&products_id=3688&vpath=30_31
