Nick's TR Edition 30
« on: September 04, 2015, 03:23:27 pm »
Been on here a while, and thought it was about time to stick up a thread

Back in March/April time I replaced my mk4 R32

with

It came with some nice extras, Cruise Control, MK6 Climatronic, grey alloys and a non-Res cat back, but also has a few things that I want to get sorted/upgrade as I go.

Nice Edition 30 Nick,
I test drove a mk4 R32 before I bought my Ed30, they're great cars, a future classic!

Nice Edition 30 Nick,

They are great cars, had mine for 6 years so felt like a change, I may end up going back to one in the future, but it would need to be a low mileage example in Tornado Red or anthracite, so I guess i've probably missed the boat on that.

Shame your OZ wheels don't fit they would look awesome

Still have the wheels as I love them and can't bring myself to sell, need to get some for the edition if any ever come up for sale

First up I added some spacers

15mm out back

and 12mm up front

I then took a trip to TSR for their open day and stuck her on the rollers to find the following

What I thought was almost stock, wasn't quite :driver:

As with all my new cars it was time to get the Cam belt changed, did the follower at the same time for piece of mind. So only added a few subtle touches and a general clean up until funds pick up again  :indifferent:

I miss the .:R and will be back to one at some point, the Eddy is livelier and feels more modern than the MK4 but feels like it's missing a bit of character.

Maybe a few more choice Mods and that will change it.

The paintwork, especially on the bonnet has been annoying me so I decided to 'man up' and give machine polishing a go  :scared:

By no means perfect but sooooooo much better than before  :happy2:

The boot pop function had been enabled previously so I bought the hardware off @bluo back in April and got it on, worked beautifully all summer but has a few off days now with the weather getting a bit colder.

Nice looking Eddy.
I've had a MK4 R32 previously too. Still miss it from time to time. Exhaust note from the full Milltek mostly!

Thanks mate, the V6 exhaust note gets under your skin.

I fancied doing something a little more noticeable so have been collecting parts:
RNS510 LED P, MK6 Armrest, MDI Kit & Loom, Euro Sliding Cup Holder, Air vent pipework and Cherry Hazard Switch.

So set about fitting, I already had the MK6 Climatronic unit
Before:

During:

And all fitted:

All integrated with the Highline Display, MFSW and Climatronic.  The sound quality over the standard RCD300 is brilliant, I know there are better systems out there but for me the OEM functionality meant it was a no brainer and Sat Nav, Ipod connectivity (after a few software updates) are great for what I wanted and the rear vents will keep the kids happy on the colder days
