Warranty question on a wing
« on: September 09, 2015, 07:17:55 pm »
I went and had my wings inspected. Vw agreed to repair one 100% on warranty but not the other as it shows signs of a previous repair.

Anyway my question is, I have another wing which is genuine with beginnings of rust. Can I put that wing on the car and then have it checked again and repaired under warranty ??? Or they tell to go away. lol.

Anyone tried that?

Highly unlikely, they will spot you have tampered with the wing you replace. Better off paying for them to replace the wing whilst it is in for the warranty work, might do you a good price?

Their good price was £350 if I supplied the wing which made no sense to me as the bumper would already be off and the paint already be made up for the warranty repaired wing

Yeah bit steep but then you get a warranted repair, and know I don't work for VW lol! Have you compared the price to an independent Body shop?

Do you have any previous history with the car? Might be worth phoning up the previous vw dealer history, as if it was repaired by vw originally it should be covered.

Tbh I don't think previous owner looked after it too well. But there is no history at my vw and she lived local to me.
