Tornado red GTI R-Tech stage 2

After 3 years of ownership of my mk5 TDI, I now have a GTI and absolutely loving it. 58k miles, 2 door, FSH and the bodywork very well looked after. Lots planned, but the important stuff first with the cam follower and PCV valve! It runs lumpy on idle so PCV first in the hope that sorts it.

Couldn't resist fitting a Ramair filter last weekend though, and it sounds great. Not many pictures at the moment but here's what I have so far

Car looks good Stuart - low miles for the year, so should be good for lots more after a few of those updates. Must admit, PCV, DV, coilpacks were about the first things I did to mine.

So, apart from spending lots more on fuel, much else planned for the car?!

Cheers Dave, yeah really happy with it, the way it drive definitely reflects the mileage which is great. PCV is being delivered tomorrow from TPS, I'm hoping it sorts out the lumpy idling it has. I'm not 100% on plans, probably springs first to get rid of some of the arch gap. I'd really like genuine xenons, but struggling to justify the costs at the moment!

How's the ed30 going?

Finally got round to sorting out the height. New H&R springs fitted along with a genuine ed30 front splitter freshly sprayed.

Liking the ED30 front, and see you have some big brakes going on too

Forgot to mention the brakes! I got the 345mm set up  for a good bargain from a friend that upgraded his on a Leon Cupra. Fitted with some new pagid discs and pads, stops a bit better now

I had the Golf dyno'd on Xmas eve. Standard other than the Ramair induction and made 207bhp, more than happy with that.

Been busy getting it ready for a stage 2 map. Ramair already fitted now with a 3" decat, runner flap delete (inc intake valves cleaned), powerflex lower dog mount insert and a PCV delete. Booked in for this Friday the 10th!

273bhp 323ft/lb. Couldn't be happier with it! Apart from the clutch is slipping already

Brilliant results mate - sorry to hear about your clutch.

I'm running the exact same BHP figures as you coincidentally (my torque figure is around 340 ft/lb though). However, my clutch seems fine at the moment (fingers crossed it stays that way!).

Thanks mate. That is a good torque figure on yours, mine slipped on the dyno otherwise I think I'd have had similar! Unfortunately he had to draw it back as a result of it. Fingers crossed for you too... I'll be £740 lighter for a new helix organic to go in there now
