A lot of folk on here use the "5w40 Millers Nanodrive", i used "shell helix ultra 5w-40" when i serviced mine recently. Make sure you get a new sump plug from the stealers before change the oil. i got my oil filter from eurocarparts.

I've got a piper cross filter (http://www.amdtuning.com/product.details.cfm?ProductID=3880&VariantID=76&ReferenceID=10079) but eventually getting a ramair induction

Any ester based engine oil of the correct grade as it has a fully synthetic base unlike many of the others and is inherently more stable at high temperature, check Opie oils for info. Plugs...if you're stage 2 or under OE is fine. OE air filter, OE oil filter and don't forget DV check/replace and fuel pump cam follower replacement.  :happy2:

Gone but not forgotten :-)

I will be giving my car an oil change at the weekend and I will be sticking with Quantum Longlife as my car is standard. Can be got for £25.99 here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281801309626?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Also got a geniune filter for £11.99 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321118278215?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT which is probably a bit cheaper than the dealers.

If you are servicing yourself you will also need a 36mm socket to remove the oil filter housing, £5.29 here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/361360993490?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

I recently stuck a Piper cross filter in it and the plugs were changed at the last service so that's all I will be doing to mine!

That's a good price for the Iridiums, it's tempting even though mine shouldn't need changing...

I think it's offically every 60,000 miles or something ridiculous like that! I will be changing mine every 2nd service so 20,000 miles or so.

Hi people, rather than make a separate thread thought id ask on here - sorry op

Going to be doing same thing to mk 5 gttdi, its currently at 129k and has not been properly serviced in a a few years mainly because its been parked up and not driven that much, done approx 2000 miles in the last 3 years

So going to give it a full service with pads, discs ,new brake fluid and anything else you guys can recommend, also where from

I was going to go euros and pick up the mann filters and ate pads and discs, would you lot also recommend changing the spark plugs?

Im not very familiar with Diesel engines but im sure they use glow plugs?

Euro car parts are good, they sell different brands of the same thing.

Also check TPS if one is near you.
