I just love these old 240 Volvo... serious contender for my next car after the GTI goes.

Jesus Rich, you'll need a pipe, trilby and cushions on the parcel shelf for that.

Now if you want cool, you've got to go 'old skool' Volvo Amazon estate - Guy Martin has a custom one.......very nice

That brings back memories! My dad use to run a 240 GLT when I was a kid, it's the only car I can truely describe as really being built like a tank. If there is ever a nuclear apocalypse you'll find me hiding in a Volvo 240 somewhere

I recently bought an old volvo estate for a European banger road trip, and ever since I've had an eye for the Swedish barges  :ashamed:

The 240 estate has the single most annoying feature of global car design (if your OCD is as terminal as mine):
The rear doors are the same as on the saloon, which has a falling roof line.  So on the estate, they look like they don't fit.

Shadow blue DSG 5 door with leather, sunroof, 18" Monzas, MFSW.
Full list of mods:  Seat inserts and a VW bottle opener.  Each worth 20bhp.

I don't mind a Volvo and it's only in recent years that I'm dividing the early Swedish beauties.

Quite partial to this one. Fan of its owner too.

Yeah his Amazon is ridiculous. A 240 with a 500bhp 2JZ and LSD would do me.

What about a coupe, such as a 162, or 242? Much rarer, I barely saw them about when they were current, let alone now!
