R-Tech Remap....Any1 had any dealings with them???
« on: December 27, 2009, 11:10:26 pm »
Looking at getting my GTI remapped and came across this company who are offering a remap to 240BHP for £250 all in and that includes putting it on the rollers. The company also do mobile remapping. Just wondering if any1 has had one of these and what they think of it, bit dubious as its so cheap but on other lesser forums  :signLOL: they have given the company rave reviews!

I have heard of them, in fact I'll be there on the 10th Jan on a Golfgti.co.uk rolling road day.

They are a sponsor on the "other" forum.

Quite a few good reviews and I haven't found a negative one. Personally I haven't been in one of their cars or come up against one on a dyno day, so cannot really give anything else but this :-

My MKV GTI has been remapped by R-Tech over a year ago now and they have been very good. They offer a great services and are very knowledgeable. Due to them not having to spend loads of money on advertising (most / all their work comes from word of mouth) they can pass the saving on to you (in most cases they are 50% cheaper than other tuners).

How does yours now drive? was it noticable? have you had any problems since? Is it an aggressive map?

She drives fine. The map isn't particularity aggressive, no more than any other I've been in. It felt like the same car just with more puff. As you can see from the RR read out it has a power curve as smooth as a babys bum. (please note power is at the wheel. Power at the engine was 242bhp & 265 lb/ft)

You can drive is just as normal as before, except when you floor it she shoots off like a rocket     The difference in power (like any remap) is day and night, much more power when flooring it.

I have had the remap on the car since December last year and have had no problems with the remap (car failed MOT in March due to a split front CV gaitor). This is their old RR, they have since moved to a new workshop.

thats the same handset that i use on my map, just with a different front cover and different tuner using them. Tuners use as they are cheap and easy to use for transfering maps. the good thing is they also read fault codes, they are very much like the bluefin handsets in the way they work

it holds 3 maps.  usually your standard map, the remapped version, and an immobiliser map. Mine is slightly different, i have my standard map, stage 2 map and stage 3 map so i have more switchability, which is handy in this weather.
