EGR DELETE KIT
« on: October 30, 2015, 10:20:11 am »
I'm wanting to install an Egr delte kit to my mk5 GTTDi, but I'm not sure which one to buy or where to buy it from. I've seen an alarm kit on eBay but thought I'd check here first for advice! Also, is there anyone in or near warrington that can do the vagcon delete for me? Cheers

Vagcom delete?
Most EGR delets are the same.
Either an allard one or a Darkside one.
The EGR needs mapping out with a remapping tool..

I've ordered an allard one so should have it by next week. Do you have anymore info on mapping it out once fitted? Cheers

Take it to an ECU tuning company.
Rtech / Darkside / any other reputable company should be able to do it.
It will run fine but you will possibly have an engine light.

Hi mate - I'm in Warrington too. Awesome GTI is in Irlam and they are a really top notch VAG tuning company. They do a generic map & EGR mapped out for around £180.

Fit a physical egr delete on top of the above map.

Slightly off topic however does the EGR cooler stop working once the EGR valve is mapped out?

No... you're modifying software, not hardware.
You will need an EGR cooler delete when you delete the EGR.
