Small framed turbos run hot enough as it is, I'd rather not add to it

Don't have time to write a lengthy reply, plenty of info about at the end of a google search

theres loads of youtube videos that will guide you through.

Disconnect the lambda sensors before getting to the downpipe bolts.

Will need to remove intake too for access

I get you dont have to but you can get easier access to the top of the downpipe bolts by reaching over the engine

not sure but as said its usually done when you get a map.

Ring up whoever mapped your car and ask them, shouldnt be much though.

It depends on whether you are having the map tweaked for performance, or whether you simply want the Lambda fault patched out. Since you haven't named the tuner, I would hazard a guess that most will want between £50-100 for doing it, but you're at the mercy of your chosen tuner really.

If you go anywhere else they will want to sell you their own map, and not have anything to do with the one already on there

I had a chap travel from Wales when I was in Birmingham and we did many road tests and logging but he's changed his number or something as I did try contact him for the gti map and I paid next to nothing for the tt map too.  :sad1:
He had all the software too fecka.

i got a reply from my tuner and he told me they need somekind of hex address to de-activate it and they don't have it on there custom map? Can i try to cheat the EML light with a spacer and bounch of wire wool stoffed inside the spacers end? and if the light comes on can i still drive with it normaly? mo defects?

I've tried the spacer and it doesn't work for very long and the eml keeps popping up here and there so I have a hand held diag tool on the car to delete this. lol

They should have the software or lying to you to charge you for it.
