Bumper removal
« on: December 22, 2015, 08:21:23 am »
Am trying to remove my front bumper. All screws removed around grill area and 4 on each arch. I am pulling but no movement. Am I missing something?

 I followed this guide

Forgot also ask. I don't have these 2 bolts here as pictured but there is nothing to secure it underneath. What is it suppose to bolt too?

There are meant to be fasteners where the bumper meets the panel but yours look like they're missing and someone's bodged it into the panel itself.

Do you know what they look like or know part number or their name? There is nothing under these holes. Apart from crash bar which is about 3in away from the bumper.

Just found a video for a Jetta and looks like there is some sort of bar. Pic below. What is it called?

In fact I just noticed it runs all the way across including under the headlights. I think I am missing this all together!! Ffs.

oh crap that's some kind of support bar to bolt the bumper onto by the looks of it.

I'll have a look when I get home.

That's the crash bar. The bumper doesn't bolt to it the bumper bolts to the plastic part above the bar
