Hi, new member. I am in the market for an edition 30. Not owned a golf since a VR6 mk3 many years ago. Mostly had m3's fast Merc, RRS, db9.
Must have:
3 door
DSG
Not red
Low miles (ideally 50k or less)

Ideally touch screen nav
Bluetooth phone
iPod connectivity

I would like the lowest mileage example I can afford and would like a high spec model.

Would are all the options that were available when new?

Looking forward to being active on the forum once I get the car. If anyone is aware of any edition 30's that might suit me please let me know.
Cheers
Mark

I'm in the market too, as far as I know just make sure (if it's DSG) that it's serviced properly, other than that they seem pretty safe cars.

I'm really interested in that steel grey one, should I be worried about buying privately??

To be honest if you are after a modified Ed30 you should only purchase a DSG.
The reason for this is that the two clutches and gearbox can handle up to 500lbs ft.
Manuals have to have the expense of the clutch being changed which is very pricey.
The clutches and gearbox on a DSG car will easily outperform the standard engine and turbo, which would have to be uprated to get near the reliability of the clutches and box.
Hope that makes sense.
Plus a DSG car accelerates faster due to rapid gear changes.

That's not mine Mark and I've no connection to the seller, just putting you on to what the forum has to offer if you hadn't seen it already  :happy2:

Thanks, could be also worth looking at. Need to sell the DB9. If anyone happens to know anyone in the market for a beautiful, well cared for low mileage Aston Martin DB9 let me know.
Cheers

Totally correct the TFSI engine in the Eddy's has been used by VW for years its a solid reliable 2.0 16v engine.
