WOW, I can't believe I missed this on my car...
« on: December 28, 2015, 06:44:45 pm »
I'm quite embarrassed really, but today I found out I have folding mirrors, pmsl... the amount of work I've done on this car and I've never even bothered to check this; shocking, there is no excuse!  I've even replaced the switch pack to the Chrome ones and never checked it.  Oh well, I guess it's a nice Christmas present :)

Anyway of getting these mirrors folding on the keyfob via VCDS?

:signLOL: Nice, that is a great belated xmas pressie.

I think it can be done on the fob, but you need different door control modules, from a SEAT iirc

Haha, discovered this myself a few weeks ago and had mine since May. Not quite 5 years though.....!

In fact I'm sure there's much more tech (bt etc) on my car than I realise. Need someone like EddieNL to have a look for me!!

Another little hidden Easter egg: Unclip your sunvisor, pivot it to the side window then extend it, voilà! A side sunvisor for when the sun is low in the sky and you're on a motorway, etc. Perfect

I didnt realise i had adjustable lumber support till 6months of owning mine.  Hated the seats on long drives before that.

Don't know if this is a feature but if you do the same for the passenger side one and extend it so it goes behind the rear view mirror,  it will dim the mirror and side mirrors. Works in daytime too. Works perfect for me as i have a serious eye condition and am sensitive to light

Autowindow reflex module from a Seat... Think they are about £80 though, so I don't think I'll bother... Thanks for the input :thumbs

I'd like to get mine folding from the key fob as the parking spaces are well tight here. £80 each is a little too much will stick with the switch for now.

I had my door modules coded via VAG ODIS to fold with key fog with factory fitted modules. A German guy helped a Portuguese friend to learn how to do it and he did both my Golfs. I think you need to have 3rd Gen modules. My Ed. 30 is a MY2008 and my GT Sport is a MY2009.

Since I was his "Guinea pig" it was free of charge for me. :pomppomp:

How did you find out you had folding mirrors?

@dazza : yeah, 80 notes is a bit too much for me, especially as I didn't even know I had them, lol.

@Shoduchi : that's interesting, anyway we can contact this guy see what he actually did?

@Peskyjones : I needed to check the nearside arch area when reversing past a low wall, so For the first time ever I used the switch to dip the mirror... then I dialed the switch to the top position and the mirrors closed; haha, one of those WTF moments.  You dial it to the bottom position to get them to unfold.

You need to have a VAG ODIS cable, you need to know a bit of computer coding, you need to know the formula to change the coding of the door modules to make it work.

All things that I don't know how to do and don't have... :signLOL:

LOL :) ... shame we can't make this happen, I'm assuming the VAG ODIS cable is somehow different to the usual ones we use with VCDS..?
