rns510 navigation not starting from HDD keep asking for DVD v13

Hello All,

I don't know what the problem is hope that you guys can help me. I already updated my RNS510 Version C to firmware EU 4120 60/35/5
I put in the dvd ( verbatim 1x burned dual layer) RNS 510_810 Europa West V13 version 8348
Its saying nothing navigation button and maps is working. But I want it on the HDD,
How can I get it on the HDD. It saying nothing.
If I press eject it saying this:




I never get this :  I need to get this to install or not??

When your RNS-510 doesn't have any maps in the HDD it doesn't ask if you want to copy or not, it starts automatically. When it finishes it may show a message informing that the copying process concluded with success and may ask if you want to eject the DVD. I've had friends telling me that their RNS-510 didn't show any message when they finished copying.

If that bar restarts you can let it repeat a couple of times before cancelling. You may need to clean the lenses with a DVD/CD cleaner, or at the worst case you may need to open the radio and physically clean the lenses with a q-tip embedded in alcohol.

Let make things clear for all of us.

When i put the dvd navigation V13 in, it says nothing. When i press navigation or map it works good perfect. When i press eject it says that it is dowloading like the first image above.

When i press on the screen on eject it comes out the dvd but it asking for dvd navigation. So the navigation is not on the HDD.

Now i want this on the HDD. What i did i put it in and wait wait wait. Its starts everytime over and over. So think i wass more than an hour waiting then i turned it off

So whats your advice.??

Normaly its need to say SAVE or TEMPORARY

If when you press eject it says that it's copying you still have to wait. If you keep an eye on the process you'll see a bar growing. If the bar restarts, the RNS-510 couldn't read the DVD properly. You'll have to clean the lenses as I've explained before.

The copying process will only be successful when you press eject and no information message appears, just the DVD will eject right away.

@Shoduchi I wish I had seen this last post before. I sat in my car for 3 hours nearly the other day watching the bar restarting itself lol I read online could take up to 3 hours so I sat and waited....in the end got fed up and stopped the process and went to sleep lol

I've burnt the maps onto TDK dual layer DVDs so not sure if these are the problem? Installing on a Rev P RNS510

The DVD from TDK should be good and your RNS-510 is still new enough to not be so picky... Well, 3 weeks ago I tried to update a friends R version and it didn't copy too. He had to use a DVD laser cleaner to get my tested DVD copied successfully.

@Shoduchi well i ordered the lense cleaner and a verbatim as i wasn't getting anywhere then..the TDK worked lol just my luck but atleast i can give it a clean anyway. thanks for your tip!
