Show me your Depo headlights
« on: January 23, 2016, 06:30:29 pm »
Has anyone got any feedback on this type of headlight as I've won some used on eBay and just wondering if any forum members have got pictures as Google is only so good.

Thanks

it's difficult to take effective pictures when they are on, I am however contemplating putting an after market HID kit on as the light output differs a lot from the standard open style headlights, although I've coated mine with a UV protector they seem fine now and look 10x better than what I had

I had a bad experience with depo lights on my old golf. Moisture was getting in and they kept condensating inside the lens. However I've seen loads of good reviews so maybe I was just unlucky.

Mine are depo and now they don't condensate inside as ive glued silka gel pack in each one. You usually get them with your new shoes

Looks like a nice upgrade, I just wasn't too sure as my current headlights have the darker internal and the depo's are the lighter/chrome internals

I have gone from the GTI headlights to the projector style and there is no difference in lighter or darker really?

Only issue you'll find is that the dip beam will be visible from the edge of the lamp as but doesn't effect it's use.
The oem ed 30 or r32 ones are a deeper tinted lense where as the aftermarket ones are lightly tinted and you can see the internals.  see below my depo one.

Ok thanks. I'll get some pictures up in a couple of weeks once I've received them and got them fitted. Does the bumper a have to come off to fit them?

I'd take it off as it'll be easier although you can just removed both sides and fit the lights in. Watch this below.

I've fitted 6000k hid's in mine and they're great IMHO some may say otherwise but I like them amd definitely better than my own ones as I posted a picture up somewhere on this forum and the light output was terrible on the M42.
There are a life saver in comparison  :happy2:
