Intake Runner Flap Fault

Need some help...

Throwing codes 12600 and 08200. Both associated with the inlet flap system.

Done basic reset which did nothing but improve the idle a little...

Since throwing the codes i have a large hesitation at 2k revs, getting quite annoying!

I suspect carbon build up, but i wondered if anyone else had any experience of the same?

I have an error too because I had mine removed when my intake was cleaned. Running well and starting well too. The weather here hasn't been that cold to make it more lumpy, I guess.

Mine started when we had a cold snap last week, i guess i need to take it off and inspect it.

What is the purpose of the flaps?  I heard removing them can make the engine feel less lively off boost.  Is that true?

Heard that removing the flaps can make the intiall start up each day lumpy.

Its not exactly great with them in lol

Their purpose is good. They use the Venturi effect to increase the speed of air intake at low rpm, so the engine runs better at low rpm with them working properly.

I can't say I miss them with the engine tuned.

Ah OK, so they are 'swirl' flaps.  Speed up the gas flow at low rpms as you say, which is a good thing!  Think I'll be leaving mine in place 

I love what happens past 3K in the Ed30, but not so thrilled below that, so don't want to make it even worse!

Yeah, you can leave them there. I'd just make sure they are kept clean and I'd replaced them from time to time to prevent any from breaking and entering the engine.

Mine is fine bellow 3k rpm, it's where I drive sensibly without being very noticed with my exhaust sound.

Thought I would update to let you know it's sorted..

Ran output test through vcds on the flap pump, as the fault code said it wasn't working but it clearing was. Checked on its parameters on measuring block 142 if anyone else needs it and all was fine. Then I performed basic setting and took it for a drive.. Back to normal!
