They're pretty sh*t tyres on there at the moment, not a brand that's worth worrying about. I plan on getting a full set when I get the wheels refurbed.

These cars do not easily step out on the rear ... If anything it should understeer in the wet rather than oversteer.

So I'd definitely say something is wrong ... Was it a garage who fitted your springs or yourself/friends?

Had them fitted by a local garage i have been going to for years, but he did have issues fitting them, took them 5 hours and i had to have two new top mounts on the rear!

Hopefully the garage tomorrow will sort it out or at least find the problem.

If not Stealers might have to be contacted...:(

Do they like modded cars?

Yeah I'll get some tyres sorted in the near future and see how I get on with it. Doesn't help that I've got ESP issues either though :D

Does seem a bit of a long time to fit them. It took my mate that long to fit my Coilovers with multiple breaks involved, and that wasn't on a ramp to make life easier.

New top mounts aren't out the ordinary, wise to replace them with new ones when fitting new springs or Coilovers.

Hope you resolve the issue anyway!

Booked in for a local VW Specialist to look over the car on thurs.

Keeping my fingers crossed they find the issue and don't find anything too bad!

Are they the right springs? There is a version for Manual and DSG, rated to different weights.

The weight ratings wouldn't cause that.
my car is neutral on sport dampers and h&r springs. i have to be an absolute buffoon to make it step out.

something is wrong and i would imagine it's sh*te tyres on the back or worn bushes or bad alignment or combination of all.

Plan is to see what they can find and if they fail to find any issues with suspension then it's off to get two new rear tyres...:)

Are all of your ARB links intact? Might be worth a look there at those. Sounds to me to be the rubber. I had Sportlines on oem dampers for over two years and never lost confidence in them in regards to cornering traction. I pushed hard through them, wet and cold, and never had an issue other than understeer...which caused me to replace the ARB's to H&R. Eventually I added Bilstein B8 dampers and messed with the springs some more to include H&R SS's in front and H&R adjustable coilover springs in back, but only for appearances sake.

It's possible that there could have been a diesel spill or leak on the tarmac as I lost my reno gt on a round about and I wasn't even doing 10mph ended up in the curb of the round about and cars stopped all over the place probably wondering what happened  :signLOL:

So i had the car looked at at a specialist VW garage today.

They could not find anything wrong with the suspension, but advised i upgrade the shocks to accompany the springs.

I have been testing it out (gradually going a bit faster at a time) around corners in the latest dry conditions and it seems fine.

I really do think this is now just an issue with the old rear pirelli's in the wet so two new goodyears going on the rear on sunday.

Fingers crossed this will sort the tail happy issues in the wet.

:)
