Tyres
« on: February 26, 2016, 02:35:57 pm »
I'm currently coming to the end of my GYEF1's and in need of replacements. Currently on 4mm on the fronts and 5-5.5mm on the rears and in my opinion seem to have lost a lot of the ability to actually grip in wet and dry conditions whilst also 'wandering' under braking and even normal driving if thats the right phrase to use?

Is there a tyre around the same price margin as the GY's that offer what the GY's do and more in terms of all performance aspects?

I know the PS3's / Continental Sport Contact 5 / Super Sports are all very popular tyres on here but I'm interested to hear more on how do they differ from each other and which order people would put them in if they were to buy any of these three options as many already have done...

Same.  I noticed my Eagles were like that from 4mm down.  Currently on 2mm at the front and the car feels truly awful!  I've been banging on for years about how rubbish Eagles are from half worn so I'm glad someone else concurs with me     I love Bridgestones for the way they wear.  They feel the same from new to bald but their uber harsh sidewalls aren't for everyone.

I'm waiting for the Sport Contact 6 to be available in 18" as it's supposed to be good.   Of your list I would go Michee Super Sports, then PS3s (or the new 4s), then Sport 5.

Eagle 3s are just out and maybe worth a look but they're not for me.  I'm going back to Michee or Conti.
