Thanks all,

Toyo proxes are just under £60 each fitted at Halfords at the moment.

Are these any good?

I had Proxys on an old car.  Good dry grip but wore down very quickly.

I've recently put Continental ContiSportContact 5's on my car and cannot fault them. I paid around £90 a tyre fitted. Don't know what other people think of them?

I just ordered some today actually at £80 a corner. Used to love them on an old car but been using ps3s since having the golf. Wondered about changing and then a mate got done from @vRSAlex and recommended them, so that was me sold.

Another vote for the Vred Sessantas, not tried many mid-range tyres but was impressed with how well they did. If you can afford anything with a Michelin label I would go for that.
