My 5-6mile trip out in the new Golf R today say 13mpg

That's commitment  :happy2:

Just playing around with the trip and noticed it - this fancy new 'advise' about when to change gear was interesting - well ignoring it was

I regularly get about 35 mpg average over a tank of V-Power from my DSG GTI, usually leave it in D but with the occasional foray into Manual :)

My commute is about 43/44 miles each way with about 30 miles on Dual Carriageway / Motorway and the rest on a nice twisty road...

Lowest I've seen on the commute was around 26-27 indicated after some spirited driving on the way home.... (MPG only ever suffers on the way home... can't think why...)

Don't really notice seasonal fluctuations too much...

Hmm

I get 400-420 out of a tank in summer and I'm getting 360-ish at the moment - full on heated seats, 23degrees on the blowers and lights there and back. B-roads averaging about 40mph to and from work 13 miles away.

It does 7mpg on track...
Sideways yo!

Hi guys

The colder it gets the worse the fuel gets for a few reasons.

The intake air temp sensor picks up on all this nice cold air in winter and advances the timing while putting in a bit more fuel hence the drop in MPG.

The cars go well though  :happy2:

I doubt the GTI can get into the 50's.
If you can do it, you need to look into getting a Micra.

Thought i`d put mine on to

I get 27-30 average and the best i have had it up to 40mpg but driving like i`m 70!!!  :driver:

needless to say it didn`t stay at 40mpg for long.

Not that worried about mpg other wise i`d buy a diesel! :signLOL:

My route to work takes me along the M11 southbound for most of the journey - bear in mind the M11 southboard between the M25 and A406 is mainly slightly downhill.
In the summer I once hit 46mpg on that stretch, but I believe that was helped by the very slight downhill gradient.

I cannot believe 50mpg is possible in a GTI - no way at all - unless you get out and push it!
