It's interesting to read the responses so far, seems there's a real split between handling and power when choosing just three modifications...

Moving over to Flickr, sorry for the broken picture links!

Since you can't remap I don't see the point in doing any engine mods except maybe intake and or exhaust since you have the noise factor.

1. Fully forged 2.5TFSI Engine inc BT and everything needed to fit it into a Golf (it's a single job.....(best not to argue with me on this point)

2. Full Lamborghini front and rear BBK (in Lamborghini Yellow) with Ceramic Discs and full single nut hub convention with OZ Race Wheels........(once again a single job for thst lot I believe)

3. Oh and if it's not too much Id like a California scent in Coronado Cherry.

3.1 Quick trip to see Niki for a custom Stage 3 map while you're all still busy fitting ARBS and lows to your cars!  :innocent:

Remaps not allowed. This would also mean your forged engine with BT wouldn't run properly as that requires a remap too.

Just for a bit of a laugh, picture this... Take your car as it was when it left the factory, completely stock. You're only allowed to modify 3 things on it, no more and remaps are not allowed. What would you choose? Start by stating the car you have.

I have a 2012 Golf R. Personally, I'd opt for anti roll bars, a high pressure fuel pump and a Haldex controller. Get the engine running as best it can and then make sure the chassis can use all the power all of the time. :happy2:

What about you?

No point in HPFP on stock map.

- TTRS brakes with the Project MU pads but with 2 piece 362mm discs
- Front/Rear anti roll bars (that only counts as one right?)
- H&R Coilovers.

I disagree, I ran a HPFP on my stock map and noticed much smoother power delivery. Granted, it's not going to give you good gains like using an air filter instead, but my focus was on smoother, more reliable power that than number chasing.

Placebo I imagine.

If the ECU is requesting 100bar for example and the OEM pump makes 100bar (i.e. meets requested) then putting on a upgraded HPFP will still result in 100bar (as requested by the ECU) of fuel pressure regardless of its headroom. There is no reason why the OEM pump on an OEM block and ECU will fail to maintain requested.

Where you run into issues is when the OEM pump cannot keep up with requested. My stage 2 would benefit from a Loba HPFP because the OEM pump struggles to maintain requested rail pressure throughout the entire RPM range.
