The norm is to use paypal. Unless you a 100% trust the person, you should never pay for an item with the gift option. It should always be for goods and services. The goods and services option takes a small fee from the sellers account (usually for 3% ish).
for example, if I were to send you 15£, you would only receive £14.55. So instead, I send 15.46 and you receive the full £15. This protects myself from fraudulent activity. Obviously in our case you wont need to worry about this, as It is me that is sending the money.
Apologies if you already know all this, but incase you didn't - its good to know. Its always worth paying a little bit extra for protection against fraudulent activity.

If you are, send me your paypal email adresss (if you don't have one, it doesn't take long to set one up) make sure the email address is correct
I send you my delivery address, and then I send the money to your account and you send me the thermostat :)
