Bushes help needed
« on: May 14, 2016, 06:41:15 pm »
Hi Guys,

I've recently had my car checked over and I've been told I should have the following bushes changed.

- Lower Engine Mount Bush
- Dogbone Bush
- Front lower arm rear bushes
- Rear arm bushes

Could you guys tell me what I'm actually looking for? Ideally I'd like to stay OEM or OEM+ so I can avoid the harshness of the polybushes. I've heard S3 or TT items are a good upgrade while still retaining most of the ride comfort. Could anybody shed any light on the part numbers I'd require?

Thanks,
Faz

So I would be getting the following dogbone http://www.awesomegti.com/shop-by-brand/ecs-tuning/ecs-dogbone-mount-insert-kit-go5-eos-a3-jet-pasb6-leo2-oct2/ I think everyone on here is probably running this lol.

If not looking at poly bushes I'm not sure in the others though sorry ... I'm sure one of the other members will be along to advise shortly though

I don't think it was pointless to ask actually.

I've read where people have used some bushes from the TT as opposed to the original OEM ones. These are solid and do not have the voids as per the normal GTI ones.

I was wondering whether anybody could tell me about these and perhaps give me part numbers.

I don't want to polybush the car as it's my daily, and living in London the last thing I want is to feel is more of the crappy roads :happy2:

For OEM uprated parts you can get the S3 front arm rear bushes that are solid and the 6R/S3/RS3 front damper top mounts. The rest is the same as you already have, so just replace the OEM bushes.
