Davv's GTI (Russian project)
« on: January 14, 2010, 09:50:45 pm »
hi all from f**ng freezing Moscow!!
this is my car
an ordinary GTI with DSG. All the mods that i've done changing pads from stock to Ferodo DS2500. (stock pads died on rack days)
also i didn't like stock exhaust pipes so i've changed them (the pipes were wider and stock pipes were cut till muffler and the sound has changed )
also lips and sideskirts were painted in candy white (TBH i don't understand styling with black lips and sideskirts...)
To the next summer i've requested few additional mods: Michelin pilot sport cup tires, custom downpipe (http://www.u-power.ru/index.php?id=12&lang_id=1, Russian exhaust company), Russian forged wheels (in Russia is based very nice wheels producer , i like AG-2 design: http://agforged.ru/index.php?id=375, they are very light, 7,8 kg aprox) , goodridge ss lines and motul rbf 600 brake fluid. Thats all. Offcourse i'd install 332x32 mm 4 piston brakes, but i don't want to spend all my money on car :innocent: they are quite cheap, 1100 pounds but anyway, BTW here is a link to Russian gti forum where one our friend has installed such brake kit: http://www.gti-club.ru/forum/showthread.php?t=5136. Americans made a test of this brakes and were sutisfied (the brakes are almost copy of AP RAcing , but firstly they were designed to russian civic racing challange, so they really work)
so here are pics of my ride

here are more pics and vid of my track running

This was only second of my track days ever)) so I've made a lot of mistakes, especially after 1:32...
but in next season I'll try to improve myself. But in Russia we have only few tracks and nearby Moscow only 1. I suppose you don't have such a problem :happy2:

pics you can see here: http://picasaweb.google.com/DavidKhund/OpenRace290809#

hope you like my story
see you

well it's time to update info about my car))
1) i'll start with discs& they are 7.3 kg 17*8 AGForged (Russian company, agforged.ru) in dark grey matte with red stripe) not bad imo
2) eibach pro-kit springs
3) federal 595 rsr 235/45/17

I should say, that the driving is much enjoyable. springs are stiffer and tauter. Wheels are lighter and cornering  is much easier
And car looks really better with this wheels, i imagine how it will look whith good 4pot brake calipers

Also i have tested tires at Moscow ring "Myachkovo" 3 weeks ago, and they are much better than ventus r-s2!!! but for few laps^ compund is 140.

Those rims look excellent Davv  :happy2:
I bet they're lovely on a track day.

The only thing I'd drop is the headlight brow things as I'm not a fan, apart from that it's a very tidy example

another good news from Russia is that GTI russian club has organized RHHCC (Russian Hot Hatch Club Championship; rhhcc.ru). there are only 2 tracks here, and we will compete twice on each on this summer. :happy2:
at the moment we had 1 race at Russian ring Miachkovo. Our club is forth, third - Redliners (Honda), second - OPC, first - MPS mszda. But we were not so lucky, as you can see on images my race was after strong shower :sad1:
but i think in the end we could stay at least 3rd or 2nd
whish us good luck :pomppomp:

thanks mate
well i know that they are little bit "collective-farm" (we say this when styling is really bad ) For ex this:

but i like it)) maybe i will reaplace it with real badlook, i don;t know
