Fuel filter mount bracket release screw corroded
« on: May 31, 2016, 12:44:48 pm »
Has anyone had this issue? Went to undo it and it has corroded so I can't release the filter to change it.

Tempted to snap the plastic mount and replace as I can't get in to drill out the screw or even cut a slot in it but thought I would ask others before this act of savagery.....

Mine was also corroded and I was very lucky to get it out. Went and bought a new one and smothered the head in grease when I'd replaced it.

Sadly no chance. I might be able to use a stud-out extractor.

Strange this has happened to this screw but the ones behind the front wheel on the arch edge are perfect, same as the ones holding the cill plastics on.

Oh well, no massive problem.....
