Costco Premium Unleaded 99RON
« on: June 06, 2016, 01:25:12 pm »
My local Costco (west Thurrock) have opened a petrol station for members and sells 99RON unleaded. Does anyone know if it's as good as tesco/shell 99?

Normally use momentum as its nearest but today Costco 99RON was only 106.9 a litre where as all other petrol stations 95RON is between 107.9 and 111.9 (can't remember what momentum is but at least 5p more), so I chucked some of costco's in.

Just done a bit of looking about and from what I can see it's made by Texaco/Chevron, head office won't confirm but people at the pumps say that's where it's from. But no one can seem to find out what it's like in comparison to M99/V-power.

The Petrol at the Liverpool CostCo is made by Shell according to the guys that work there (it's a Shell tanker that drops it off or was last time I saw it delivered, I used to live over the road).

Anecdotally the cars I've owned have run just as well on CostCo fuel as Shell fuel but they haven't been as highly tuned as say a 2.0 GTI or ED30 :)

I can say for sure that it's so much better than *any* Tesco fuel.
