wanting a mk5
« on: June 11, 2016, 08:12:19 am »
new to this forum

At the moment I own a skoda fabia vrs 1.9tdi which I am in the process of selling no longer need a diesel. I have always wanting a mk5 golf and when I saw a few for less than £7000 I made my mind up to find a good spec one.

what should I look out for when buying one and anyone know of someone with one for £7000

Hi @e4n94 welcome to the forum!
If you're looking to spend around the 7/8k mark maybe you should have a look for an edition 30! Much better for tuning etc.
Usual stuff to look out for is cam follower being replaced, DV replaced with revision G, revised version of the PCV  and a good service history!

Cheers...
Conor

You would get a pretty high milage ed30 for 7k... or a dog.

Best stick to the normal GTI as will get a newer lower milage one for your 7k.

Thought so.
There was an '06 33,000 mile standard GTI in the Midlands that I was eyeing up on AT around Christmas time, then up at £8500.......then the dealer whacked it up to £10,000. Still on AT now.....

I agree. I'm really struggling to find a reasonable priced one not in red with under 90K miles.

I've got an 07 plate on 33k miles that I'm finally admitting I may need to sell, I would be looking for more than 7k though.

I have a 57 plate candy white gti 5 dr with just under 52k on the clock. Unfortunatly in need for something bigger. Been putting it off but needs must. Would consider 7k if your interested.
