02m or 02q

How do i know if my car has an 02m or 02q gearbox
Is is a 54 gti
Any visual way of knowing?

Hi there

If you have your original handbooks, the one with the data sticker on the inside cover should show the transmission code on the same line as the engine code.

On the car, the gearbox code is often stamped on the bottom of the bell housing - might need a wipe over to find it.
