Disable built in aerials with VCDS?
« on: June 21, 2016, 09:59:59 pm »
My car has had an aftermarket shark fin dab aerial installed by the previous owner. The aerial seems to work fine however I'm getting these two fault codes on VCDS under the radio section.

2 Faults Found:
00856 - Radio Antenna
            011 - Open Circuit
00821 - Antenna 2 for Radio (R93)
            011 - Open Circuit

I'm guessing this is due to the built in diversity aerials no longer being used? If so is there anyway to disable the aerial in VCDS?

Diversity box in under drivers seat......

Buy two Fakra cables on ebay.
unplug two input leads and two output leads from box and then join them up using bought cables.
Can unplug power cable at same time....job done and you'll have proper aerial feed to radio

@ady-uk sorry I completely forgot to check this post. So if I buy two of these cables https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/331564937972 to join them and bypass the diversity box it should remove the error code?
