At last I've got the car back from  autotechnica, AWD conversion done, and what a job, great lads and always kept up to date on build, anyone running Big Power this is a must, totally transforms the car, I can now get the power down below 100 without spinning the fekin wheels everywhere, can't wait for next track day and the Pod, will be good to see the times now, :grin:

Nice! what engine? Can I ask for a total cost for the AWD conversion? Did you get all the parts yourself then just drop it all of at autotechnica?

It was the mk5 2.0. Engine and still is exept, sh*t loads of mods hence needing AWD, sourced all parts for conversion of flee bay, took me a few months but got them cheap, around £1000 for everything, then £2800 for conversion, sorry add £500 for AWD down pipe and a few other bits,  Total £4500, the car owes me around , £15.500 but with close to 500 bhp it's  now a supercar hunter lol, will get some pics up when I've cleaned it , I've kept it looking quite subtle, so it's a real sleeper, send me your number and I'll show pics as is, going for a run down Northampton on Sunday, run by the lads on mini torque, have a look on there events board, more than welcome to join.

It's a manual, and the lads at Autotechnica were Awesome always keeping me up to date, and they've done a complete build log, which I'll post when I get it, meantime you can look at a AWD Cupra they did, seatcupra.net awd conversion. I'm sure it's there.

Sounds rather good. The idea of a mk5 that grips and goes like a big turbo mk6/7 is sleeper in itself.

Bet you're loving it. Can't wait for pics and details.

That's some serious power and something id have wanted but too much effort and cost involved but anyway now you can go find some uptight super car drivers and kick thier  :booty:  :signLOL:

No hadn't dreamed of it  :innocent: :laugh: It would be fun though. Its food for thought when you're thinking about progressing to a mk6r at around 15-20k when CDL/BHZ = 2-3k, AWD conversion running gear = 1-2k, labour= 3k so total is around 8-9k and you end up with a car as capable, if not more than a 6r and a lot cheaper. Obviously you still have the shell of the mk5 but that just makes it a sleeper  :evilgrin:

You then need to think resale from an outside perspective! Is a 2005 performance AWD with £14,000 total investment going to sell for £14,000 whereas a 6R would stay constant with gradual depreciation!

How many time have you seen people on this forum with their "back to standard sale"? There's not going back to standard with a conversion like that so unless you're planning on keeping it forever then it's a big financial hit with no return!

On the other hand... DO IT! That car would be a beast!
