GYEF1 asy 2 to 3
« on: July 17, 2016, 04:06:13 pm »
Has anyone gone from the 2's to the 3's recently? If so, I'm keen to hear opinions before I press the green button on some as I've been contemplating the new PS4's also

Yes, I went from version 2 to 3;

+ Quiet
+ Economy a touch lower even though the label went from C to E
+ Insulation from bumps
+ Amazing braking, probably the best bit, its like having a brake upgrade

- Slightly less directness, but I put this down to 8mm of tread versus 2mm

Probably this best cruising tyre you can get, others are more "focused" like the MPSS or CS5

Note this is on 225/17/91Y

In regards to the CS5, how have people rated these against the GYEF1 2's? Positive and negatives as David has shown above would be great

I rate CS5 just a bit higher than GYEF1 2's for fast road driving due to stiffer side wall. The GY are better for cruising and have a great durability for a sports summer tyre.

I'm curious to try the new PS4 and compare them with the GYEF1 2's and CS5, in my GT Sport. For my Ed. 30 I'll need MPSS. :smiley:

Well it turns out my tread has been a waste I think as I have opted for the PS4's instead, was a last minute decision sort of thing and just went with my gut feeling as I've wanted to try Michelins as so many people have reccomended them and more so than the Goodyears which has resulted in me changing my decision to the PS4's
