Does the mk5 look dated now?

The R32 rear end is definitely a good improvement or for a more subtle approach colour coding the rear bumper works well too. I have a black GTI so I can get away with leaving the bumper standard. I got a pair of R32 lights for mine and a black grill badge (nod back to the MK1 & 2 GTIs) and I think it looks spot on, I'll get some pics up once I spend a day detailing it.

I'd agree with many here, I don't think the MK5 looks dated (original internals withstanding) it's one of the reasons I haven't kept with a golf when upgrading this time. I tried out a 7R but while lovely it felt so much of an evolution, wanted something that felt a little more special for spending the cash on new.

The mk5 looks great from the front if you ask me and personally I rate the rear as well. I'm generally.not a fan of all the creases in newer cars, the mk5 gti looks great without their use! Will be sorry to see mine go...

A few Mk6 parts make the interior feel completely different. Mine has Mk6 wheel, RCD510 (about to fit Bluetooth), headlight switch, and a Mk6 gear knob. I've also retrofitted cruise control, cherry hazard switch and newsouth boost gauge.



A few mods to the outside and it looks better than any Mk6

It doesn't look as sharp as the latest cars, but I think it's aged better than the 1st Focus ST.
