Edition 30 worth the extra? Can someone look over this 1?
« on: July 23, 2016, 07:36:17 pm »
Is the edition 30 worth the extra money? If I was to get a gti standard I would colour code the bumper anyway so maybe it might be better for me to get an ed 30, can you get a nice one for 6.5k or is that pushing it? I could possibly get to 7k I think at a stretch

For 7k you'll get a higher miles, low spec ED30 so for that budget is go for a nice high spec GTi example. The ED30 is more than just colour coded bumpers though, it's worth the extra is the bigger turbo, higher base spec, wheels etc etc are things that you like. In a bit biased but I think the ED30 is the best MK5 you can get  :drinking:

The mileage is good and as long as it's been looked after should be an ok motor. The spec is basically a standard ED30 though, for me I wanted DSG, Xenons, high line, multi function steering wheel etc etc. Everything can be retro fitted but if those specs don't worry you that's a nice car. Make sure you do an HPI and get it looked at though  :happy2:
Insurance is slightly higher but it's all relative to your history and age

Yeas mate, the ED's have the same rear lights as the R32. They are called dark cherry

Does this answer your question?  :indifferent:  :indifferent:

Go test drive one everyone has different tastes etc one person may love it, the next man may hate it. Dsg isn't for me tho, cars just about drive them selfs these days so why take even more involvement away?

Dsg up shifts are great tho

Ed30 with the extras and bhp on top I'd second the above statement  :happy2:

Yes the Eddy is worth the extra. Aside from the exterior and interior aesthetic differences there's the K04 turbo which easily sees 300bhp from a stand alone stage 1 map and 360+ from Stage 2+.

Read through a load of build threads on here and it'll give you a resonable idea what peeps do, what they mod, parts used blah blah blah. Lots of peeps colur their standard GTIs....check out @jedi-knight83 car in the For Sale section, great example of a standard GTI with all the extras.

EDIT: Just noticed there's an Eddy in there for £6,900......feck they are getting cheap.
