Full Red Leather!!!
« on: September 03, 2016, 11:47:48 am »
A car just came up for sale with red full leather. I'll post pics when I'm on my desktop....

I've only ever seen this once before and it was on this forum from a guy somewhere in Europe!

How much would a full leather setup including door cards etc be worth nowadays?

I'm really thinking of buying it!

Hey Luke,
That looks mad :happy2:
Is that here in Ireland?
Was that an option from VW or is that a custom Job?
I think it looks well  :happy2:

It said it was factory fitted but it seems quite rare... Only ever came across it once before.

If my car wasn't grey and 5 door, I'd probably see if he would split it!

It looks factory in fairness.
Think i may have seen that color once before in an Eos?

You could get yours re trimmed Luke. Red against Grey paint would be epic :happy2: (http://nolanautocare.ie/)
Pricey for a proper job mind :surprised:

Ah I wouldn't be keen on grey with anything other than black!

Either white on red like a bmw or black on red!

Good quality re-trim should attend to all these areas. But as you say, pricey! pricey! pricey!

I like when you get a response with actual evidence instead of just "well I saw it sometime on the internet" Thanks @dronners

This guy is looking for 7k for a poor spec GTI, if it was affordable I'd buy it just for the seats!

The trim has been done well, but it's not for me. Looks just a bit 'BMW'...

Usually love red interior but IMO it just doesn't work on stock Gti seats. Would look much better on the optional RS recaros..

What's the going rate for a full re trim from a reputable company?

Hi Luke,
I'm the ' guy somewhere in Europe ' still have mine, with the Candy White bodywork it still looks the dogs even 18 months down the road and that's a long time for me to keep a car !
I did all the work on the history and mine was definitely imported into Grrece with standard cloth trim.
The guy I bought it from, the original owner, said he bought it from the showroom as it is now, there were times when the Grreks thought they had money so an enterprising sales manager must have taken it upon himself to have the mod done prior to sale to increase its desirability and in my eyes at least ... it worked.
Mine does not have the exaggerated ' GTI ' logos on the headrests and has worn better than the one in the pictures but mines been treated like a mistress and still only done approx. 35k miles. to date.
Your taste is obviously the same as mine, I find black very ordinary and depressing.
Greetings from Crete
Steve
