I've rock hard breaks after stalling.
« on: September 17, 2016, 02:28:18 pm »
I stalled the car some weeks ago and re-started it and as I was pulling into the space the breaks were rock hard and I needed to use the handbreak to come to a stand still... today I stalled reversing off my drive and started her up again and when I go to the first junction I could not stop in time and had to use handbreak... I pumped a few times, tunrned her off and decided to turn around.

I have read that this could be a vacum hose... is this a VAG job or an easy fix via utube?  I have precious cargo being a mum of two but also going through a tough time at the mo.   Thoughts please.  Thanks in advance.

Definitely a hose from the vacuum pump has come off or split.  Not necessarily a dealer job.  Any garage should be able to trace the hose back to the servo and figure it out.
