Called Peter Cooper today to order my rev G DV, they have told me the D is the only one compatible with my car due to the Manifold type!? Now confused because everyone I have asked or from what I have read say Rev G as the D wont last and leaks boost from new. Car is stock 07 56k.

Sadly they do not know what they are talking about which is often the case with many of the dealerships, The Revision D is the older Piston Type and was superseded by the Revision G! Not 100% Sure if any of the dealers are selling Revision D's anymore anyway unless they are aged stock?

I have been fitting Revision G items for the past 3 Years now.

To save any hassle from them just ring and ask for Part Number = 06F145710G

OR you could consider going for a GFB-DV+!

With the £40+ that you will spend for a new Genuine Diverter put the extra to and go for a GFB-DV+ which is a fit and forget item and has other advantages too. Plus you will be able to retain your original solenoid which will probably be a Revision C item if its original.

You have 3 options.

Rev G is a diaphragm but can still split. It's just a bit better than the older revisions. Expect it to split in 2 years with a stock engine.

Rev D is a piston which can't split but people report minor lack in response. I have a Rev D fitted and did not see any lack in power.

If you're willing to upgrade to a fit and forget part then purchase this http://www.amdtuning.com/vw/golf-mk5/2-0-gti-200ps-2004/gfb-26/gfb-dv-for-late-model-vag-2-0t

It fits to your existing solenoid and does not need to be replaced. People also report increased throttle response but it's roughly twice the cost. I will be fitting this over my Rev D to do a side by side comparison next week.

100% worth spending a little extra and getting the GFB DV+. I purchased the Revision G but replaced it after couple of hundred miles with the GFB one just because I can't live with knowing it's gonna split again one day, i'm now also at Stage 1 so it only made sense. The throttle response is great and holds boost really well.
 
My Rev G valve is on ebay now, just the valve and not the solenoid as you don't need to replace the solenoid. So it will save someone some money.  :innocent:

Well for the time being I went with a Rev G purchased through Awesome, took me half hour to swap over. Car seems so much more responsive despite the old Rev C looking in good order although it did come apart very easily.

Been thinking of upgrading myself, but don't really want to sound like a boy racer coming down the road!  :laugh:

No, They are a Re-Circulating type so do not vent to Atmosphere. If you fitted an Aftermarket Intake with open Air Filter and got rid of the Airbox then you would get some chatter depending on which one you go for.

The DV+ is an excellent and worthwhile upgrade!

Already running a K&N Typhoon induction kit...so the 'chatter' is present  :smiley: Louder now that I removed my already falling off sound insulation from under the bonnet
