Service intervals on Ed30

Hi all I have found an Ed30 the mileage is just below 40k.
I have spoken to the seller who had informed me the car has only had 2 services since leaving the factory some 8 years ago, this is allegedly as the car has been on a long life service plan; although the oil was changed yearly by the previous owner.

My question is, were the Ed30's ever advised by VW to be on a long life or annual service.

Every 12mths or 10,000 for me. Time & distance regime at VW. Don't believe in long life service regime. Even on a diesel would still do the same.

Is there proof of the yearly oil changes by the owner? Like at least receipts etc.

And should be an oil change at least once a year on turbo cars. I do mine once every 6 months as oil is only cheap and much better for the car.

As someone's company car, my 2007 eddy was on long life regime from new. The serv book shows it.

I strongly disagree with this approach, but....

Things have changed now, i have posted here already about regular oil changes etc.
As long as there have been additional oil changes, and proof, i wouldn't be too concerned.

There will be lots of other service items that you should be doing immediately, brake fluid, PCV, PRV, fuel filter etc...loads of info on here.

I waited for a car that'd had annual services before I bought my GTI. Really don't like the idea of long life on a TFSI.

Thanks guy's just to be clear, i am of the view a car should be serviced anually as opposed to a long life service.
I would imagine the other parts such as suggested by grey golfster would definitely need to be changed and certainly will be
