If Porsche treat their cars to active engine mounts, then why can't someone do the same for us as an aftermarket thing?! I wonder what the new RS3 uses as that is packing serious power and torque - enough to mash something like these in a year.
Active roll bars are being used on some Audis now too. Clever stuff, but probably rather expensive as an aftermarket option. I'm sure it's possible, and could probably utilise some of oem parts. But I don't think it'd be anything less than bank-breaking. One for the 'money no object' builds!

What would we suggest here chaps? VWR mounts to complete the set? What would you go for?
No, you won't like those if you don't like cabin vibration and noise, especially now that winter is approaching (rubber gets stiffer the colder it gets).
Apparently a lot of people like the O34 Motorsport 'street density' mounts, but there are reports of poor quality and not lasting. Other people fill the voids in the standard engine mounts. One thing is for sure, changing the OEM ones for aftermarket WILL increase vibration, there's no way round it. The VWR/Vibratechnics dogbone with standard side mounts is about acceptable for me. Changing the side ones is where most of the vibration comes from though, especially the gearbox one.
