Engine enquiry

hiya all
I'm new to the site, I purchased a 3 door mk5 Golf GTI  55 plate earlier this year, love her to bits
I recently had a few issues luckily now sorted.  When trying to find info though i did have some difficulty as mine has the Audi s3 engine
My query is does this engine come as standard in some gti models?  Not that I'm complaining this car is so much fun to drive

What is your engine code?

The s3 has the stronger ko4 turbo like the Leon Cupra and the Edition 30 Mk5 Gti

240bhp as standard instead of the normal ko3 turbo (200hp)  found on the Gti.

It's most likely they have just changed the engine cover to the audi one as they both are the same other than the badges.

It will be three letters. You should find it stamped on the cylinder head or on the sticker on your timing belt cover :-)
