New car purchase Leon Cupra
« on: November 22, 2016, 03:03:34 pm »
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just bought a 10 plate white Leon Cupra.

Few niggly bits - passenger door wont open from the outside with 2 button presses on the fob, but all others do?

It has the RNS315 fitted, is the any way to update to latest software?

Also it has 2 AUX ports, one in the stereo itself, and one in the pouch next to the USB port. The one in the stereo wont let me put the wire inside, and the one in the pouch wont work at all, same with the USB  :fighting:

Any ideas?

Apart from them bits I'm loving it   :driver:

The door control modules have been known to give up on life.  My drivers side got temperamental, but started playing ball again.

Not sure on the audio, what head unit is it?

I presume a new module will need coding into the fob?

Its the RNS315 mate

Not to the fob.  May need adaptation doing which would be simple  Should be plug and play though.  I stand to be corrected

Not having much luck with this new car so far!  EML come on last night "p0011 intake camshaft position timing- over advanced (bank1)"  :fighting:

On my gti this was because the chain had stretched causing the car to sound like a bag of spanners with a big loss in power, however the leon sounds perfect, and drives as it should.

Maybe just a camshaft sensor?

Bloody heck more niggles then I'd like to have when buying any car but it's never easy.

Clear the code and wait till it comes up again and then replace sensor as VAG cars are little w****** and sensors like to play up  :signLOL:

I know mate but got it at a good price so a few niggles are allowed I guess, plus its only a weekend car so not end of the world

Had a full engine flush as the oil was like mud! Oil change with fresh fully synthetic & new filter, cleared the code & hasn't come back since   :happy2: fingers crossed nothing else pops up

You need VCDS on there to check the timing. Check the condition of the plastic connnector on the camshaft adjuster, If it's split then you need a new one. Could be a few things

It will.

You can get a lambda spacer, which usually works.  Or you can have the fault light coded out with your map
